Find it Cheaper Wednesday: 4th Edition: Rachel Gilbert

I have been a complete slacker when it comes to the blog.  I have been having a hard time knowing what to write about as I get so little response to what I post.  I got back from a vacation last week and am re-energized and motivated to keep going with what I have been.

So it's time for another edition of "Find it Cheaper Wednesday."

Today my expensive/designer find is the Rachel Gilbert Taika Floral Sequin Shift Dress shown below:
NMF16_TAE50
This gorgeous dress is priced at $2,499 at Neiman Marcus.  The exterior is silk with a polyester/spandex lining.  If you have to have this beauty, you may find it here.

My more affordable alternative to this dress is an All Over Beaded Shift Dress available at Bohme, imaged below:

This dress may not have the floral pattern of the Rachel Gilbert but is a match in color comparison and cut.  This dress is a few inches shorter as well but still provides coverage.  This dress is 100% polyester.  At $72.50, the Bohme dress is a mere 2.9% of the cost of the designer version.  To purchase this dress, you may find it here.

If you happen to live where there is a Bohme Boutique, there is another gorgeous, sequin, shift dress in the stores that has a very 1920's flapper feel.  It is definitely worth checking out and is on my wish list.  Photo may follow on Instagram in the next couple days so keep an eye out there if you are curious about it.

Is there any designer item you would like me to find cheaper next week?  Let me know if so. :)

Find It Cheaper Wednesday: 3rd Edition: Diane Von Furstenberg

Some of you may view today's Find It Cheaper as a little bit of a stretch and maybe it is, but hear me out on it first....

Designer Version:
Diane Von Furstenberg's Prita Silk Shirt Dress.  Retail price $398.  Definitely not an outrageous price for designer clothes but I don't currently have $400 sitting around that I can spend on a dress.  This dress is 95% silk/5% spandex.  Very cute.  I love the use of gingham in a modern/not country context.  Very cute and casual.  Dress may be found here.

My Alternative:

The Trinette Shirtdress from Anthropologie. Retail price $148.  This is a match for me since it is a short, black, gingham, shirtdress.  Yes, that may be where the similarities end but it is my pick today because it feels more season appropriate.  As much as I LOVE DVF and really like the Prita dress, it feels like more of a fall dress to me despite the silk fabrication.  The Trinette dress speaks to me for the warm weather/summer.  This dress is very cute and feminine without too much shaping or detail.  It's a win in my book at about a 63% savings of $250.  This dress may be found here.

Now back to DVF for just a minute....

In the same collection as the Prita dress, there is a gorgeous short wrap dress that I have been in love with since the runway show debuting the collection.  Check out the Riviera Jersey and Chiffon Combo Wrap Dress:

I love this dress but will not be getting it because A) out of my price range and B) no longer available in my size.  Remember this dress though because if I can find fabric, I plan to make it for myself instead.  I think it is gorgeous!
